In the frame of European projects (ESA GSTP 3), the department took part in the design and the testing of Air-Hydrogen heat exchangers with high efficiencies and low pressure drops to be used for In- Flight LOX collection in advanced space launchers. In this context, the department has developed a fully instrumented test bench for Air-Air heat exchangers. More recently, the department has also created a test bench for Air-Oil heat exchangers for aero-engines applications.
